Factory93 presents Solardo, John Summit & guests

About this Event

Factory 93 explores the intersection of untethered creativity and bold self-expression, while never taking its finger off the pulse of the underground. When Insomniac broke out its figurative bolt cutters to dismantle the lock on the warehouse scene and return to its roots, it retold the story of its origins in hosting historic parties in the streets. It also gave birth to a movement where discerning heads are living on the frontlines of celebrating radical ideas through the fusion of immersive live art, cutting-edge technology, and exceptionally curated house and techno. That vision continues to hold the same ground, even as the brand grows and extends beyond the warehouse , where it was originally conceived. Whether it’s at an intimate warehouse space or on a festival dancefloor, Factory 93 manufactures moments that make this culture one we’re proud to call our own.

Solardo

Hailing from Manchester, production duo Mark Richards & James Eliot, collectively known as Solardo, are continuing the city’s rich heritage in house music. The prolific duo’s meteoric rise is testament to their hard work in the studio and their infectious energy in the club. A slew of releases via imprints like Viva, and elrow helped rocket them to their first Beatport Number 1 with their breakthrough record on Hot Creations, ‘Tribesmen’. Since then, the pair have catapulted into the public eye, remixing tracks for the likes of Duke Dumont & Gorgon City, MK, and Nicole Moudaber & Carl Cox. Having released EPs on Toolroom Records, Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars and Green Velvet’s Relief Records, they launched their own imprint, Sola, which has so far housed productions from the likes of CamelPhat, Secondcity, Mason Maynard and Will Easton.

After selling out The Warehouse Project at the end of last year, the pair kicked off 2018 with their second sold-out Solardo Sessions UK tour which also included European dates in Barcelona, Milan and Rotterdam. Following this, they completed a relentless stint of shows in the States, which included sets at Movement Detroit and EDC Las Vegas. Over the past 12 months, they have also completed successful tours worldwide, across the likes of Australia and South America, alongside countless festival shows at Glastonbury, Lovebox, Tomorrowland, Hideout and Parklife, the latter seeing the pair play two shows this year, including being one of the headliners on the Hangar stage in front of a crowd of 14,000 people.

Not stopping there, Mark & James contributed to Pete Tong’s career-defining Essential Mix series on BBC Radio 1, before landing an acclaimed residency alongside Eric Prydz at Hï Ibiza, ticking off another Balearic superclub having previously performed at Circoloco and Paradise at DC-10.

Starting in July, the 12-week residency sees the likes of Pirate Copy, Lauren Lane, Monki, Huxley, and Secondcity play in the club room alongside the Mancunian duo every week, and follows Solardo’s recent accolades, which have seen the duo crowned DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough DJs of 2016 and Best Duo of 2017.

Touring and music aside, the duo have even found time to start their own radio show named ‘The Spot’ which has seen special guests come through such as Claude VonStroke, Nicole Moudaber, MK, Skream and many more. The support for Solardo has been consistently across the board and as solid as the bass weight their tracks possess.

John Summit

Chicago native John Summit has quickly become the hottest name in house music worldwide following the release of ‘Deep End’ in June 2020 which charted #1 overall on Beatport, was named Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune, and drew support from BBC Radio1’s Annie Mac, Adele Roberts, Danny Howard, Scott Mills and MistaJam.

Paving the way for the next wave of house music out of the US, Summit has already scored notable releases with label-giants Defected, Repopulate Mars, Dirtybird, and Solotoko — which includes his ‘Stimulate’ EP on Repopulate Mars that reached #1 on Beatport’s Tech House Releases, “Bass Go” with fellow Chicagoan Gene Farris, and another Beatport overall Top 10 single in June 2020 with “Forgotten One.” His standout productions have also been championed by industry heavyweights Diplo, MK, Fatboy Slim, Lee Foss and Solardo.

Summit has also performed at many of North America’s signature dance venues, including noteworthy shows at Halcyon San Francisco, PRYSM Nightclub Chicago, Sound Nightclub LA, Celine Orlando, Magic Stick Detroit and more. In addition to making waves throughout the North American club scene, John is looking forward to leaving his future imprint both internationally and on the coming festival seasons.

offaiah

Still waters run deep, but OFFAIAH prefers to keep it that way. After growing up in East London, he did a little revitalizing himself in tandem with the growth of his town that was threatened to crumble under neglect and rubble. It’s a phoenix story of sorts, but only in highlighting OFFAIAH’s drive to take his work seriously once he sets his mind to it.

‘Private Show’ was the first release from OFFAIAH’s own label AllFire (Get it?!). Having scored arguably the biggest dance record of 2016 with his debut ‘Trouble’, he followed up in 2017 with ‘Run’ and ‘Run This Town’ in quick succession. “Private Show’ took OFFAIAH into new territory sonically and has been described as Felix Da Housecat’s ‘Shower Scene’ for a new generation. Having recovered from a helicopter crash in 2017, OFFAIAH returned in full force in 2018. “Work It Out” his debut release on Defected Records landed on August 3rd. OFFAIAH finishes off 2018 with remixes of Calvin Harris/Sam Smith, Jack Back & Deadmau5 as well as a follow up EP on Defected.
