When and where
Date and time
Friday, August 2, 2013 · 3 - 9pm CEST
Location
Factory garden Brunnenstr. 141 10115 Berlin Germany
Description
Come on over and meet Factory's residents, partners and friends. Share a chilled-out afternoon with us in our garden - we've got food, beer, startups, and hopefully some sunshine! Join us from 3pm to tinker with hardware, meet one of the fathers of the internet, Vint Cerf, and join in with all the fun and games. Factory residents SoundCloud will be providing entertainment from bands and DJs, as well as vegetarian food and non-alcoholic drinks at their Veggie Corner. Harder drinks can be found at Run a Shop, Iconpeak and Refined Invest’s bar and Zendesk’s Beerpool, with meaty treats available at the Mentor BBQ. Anyone with a sweet tooth can enjoy some tea and cake with Ding Dong, or a refreshing ice cream in the 6Wunderkinder chillout zone. Fun and games come courtesy of Merisier’s Wheel of Fortune, Toast’s Classic Cornhole, Hack Your Boss with Mozilla Webmaker, The New Motion’s Polaroid Portraits and the meme-tastic Lolcat Memory from Urlist. Factory’s partners the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society will be sharing knowledge over at their Interactive Research Lounge, while Google for Entrepreneurs will be offering the chance to meet Googlers and talk about entrepreneurship over free drinks. Take part in the Wikipedia Game or the Google Image Game and you could even win a prize! At the FabLab, Hafner's Büro and Kobakant booth, a sensor scans you and 3D prints a miniature version of your head, which is then combined with a random toy to create a personalised interactive action figure. At the Hackidemia space you can make a DIY dynamo mobile phone charger or an analogue synthesiser, or check out cool hacks like a motor boat made from recycled materials! You can drop into the workshops at any time, and tutorials will be given every 15 minutes. Other exciting events include: 3pm - 6:30pm Moonshot Pitch Challenge: Organised by Startup Weekend Berlin, the pitch challenge invites designers, techies, entrepreneurs, makers, video creators, etc. to team up to develop a world changing moonshot venture idea to pitch to legendary innovator Vint Cerf (full details here: http://berlin.startupweekend.org/2013/07/19/techopenairthe-factory-berlin-moonshot-pitch-challenge/). 6:30pm Vint Cerf will christen the Factory with a bottle of champagne carried by an amazing Logic Flight drone. Where/When: Factory, Brunnenstraße 141, 10115, Berlin, Germany. Friday August 2nd, 3pm - 9pm.
