Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Facilitated by Jeff Stec.

Why do some great ideas take-off and make a big difference while others wither and die in the hands of a few die-hards? Simply, people support what they actively co-create, not what they passively "buy-into" -- which means a radical transformation in how people gather. This course will teach any type of leader how to facilitate co-creation from the inception of an idea through the building of a sustainable movement, primarily focusing on the "stand-up skills" necessary to run highly engaging, co-creative conversations that actually generate commitment and momentum. Topics will include building connections, why-what-how organizing, needs mapping, brainstorming, organizational design, and handling high-conflict situations, among others. Don't fear facilitating -- using these tools, anyone (even introverts) can stand-up and get their team or community working together.

Jeff is a former family-poverty lawyer who is now a 15 year veteran facilitator and trainer of community engagement for citizens, government, and non-profits building community movements, government-citizen partnerships and constituent-driven strategic plans. Jeff teaches courses in collaborative negotiation for lawyers and collaborative leadership for both political and citizen activists.
