This is a one part class that meets on Sunday, December 4th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sewists with basic machine sewing skills are invited to join Bri Hickman to learn to make fabric gift bags! Just in time for the holidays, these gift bags are great to have on hand for host/hostess gifts, holiday parties, even birthday parties! They are reusable and each one is unique. One fat quarter is all that is required to make one bag (more fabric is required for larger bags) plus some pretty ribbon or trim to tie it off. Techniques covered in this class will include: how to make various sized bags, making a casing, and stitching on embellishments. Ages 8+ Bring your own machine or sign up early to rent one of four shop machines. Machine-rental tickets must be purchased in conjunction with tickets to the Girl's Peasant Dress Series. Those who prefer to sign up in person or over the phone (via credit card) may do so during Sew Memphis business hours. In addition to the $20 class fee, students will need to purchase/provide at least one fat quarter of fabric in addition to basic sewing supplies. All supplies will be available at Sew Memphis at a 15% class discount. A more detailed supply list will be sent in the confirmation email to those who register.
