The Speaker:

William Koyama, Captain (USN, Retired)

Bill got his BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Tennessee, and Master's degree in National Resource Security Strategy from The Eisenhower School (formerly ICAF, National Defense University). He was a Spacecraft System Engineer for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA (working on Galileo just after College).

He has a wide range of in-depth experiences, including one tour as Professor Of Naval Science, University of California Berkeley, CA, Operational Combat tours aboard USS Kitty Hawk, USS Eisenhower, in OSW, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, other operations in Somalia (all in FA-18), British Empire Test Pilots School Instructor Tour, and U.S. Navy Test Pilot Instructor tour.

He is a US Navy Test Pilot School Graduate (Class 109). During his services in the U.S. Navy, he accomplished 1113 arrested shipboard landings as carrier pilot. He was a high time FA-18 Hornet and Super Hornet Pilot (4,024 hours in the FA-18).

In November, 2016, Bill transitioned from 28 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy. He is currently a Lockheed Martin Senior Staff Test pilot, working in Palmdale, CA, for classified projects. He is a member of SETP (The Society of Experimental Test Pilots).
