Event description

Description

As a creative extension of the EDUC 530 First Nations, Métis, and Inuit History, Education, and Leadership course, Dr. Yvonne Poitras-Pratt and Aubrey Hanson are working with the Education Students' Association to present a community celebration on campus. The event program will include speakers and discussion, a digital showcase of preservice teacher Indigenous learning, as well as a guest performance titled "New Blood," presented by Strathmore High School students. There will also be refreshments and opportunities for conversation following the program.

Event proceeds will support University of Calgary Education Students’ Association legacy fund for reconciliation initiatives.
