All Columbia alumni, parents and friends are invited to attend a conversation with Mike Massimino, '84 and NASA astronaut, and Mary Boyce, Dean of Engineering. Extreme Engineering is part of a series of talks with leaders in engineering and applied science that highlight the intersection of exploration and innovation.

Mike Massimino is a Professor of Professional Practice at the School of Engineering and Applied Science and former NASA astronaut. A veteran of two space flights, (STS-109 in March 2002 and STS-125 in May 2009) Massimino has logged a total of 571 hours and 47 minutes in space, and a cumulative total of 30 hours and 4 minutes of spacewalking in four spacewalks.

The conversation will begin at 7 pm and will conclude with time for questions from the audience. A reception with light hors d’oeuvres and beverages (+21 with ID) will immediately follow the Q & A. Copies of Massimino's new book, Spaceman (New York Times Best Seller list in Science) will be on sale for $28 and available for autograph.
