About this event
The Georgetown Lombardi Arts & Humanities Program invites you to unite in rest in a weekly virtual yoga community.
This gentle, adaptive yoga class incorporates breathing and mindfulness with seated and optional standing postures at a slow and welcoming pace for students of all levels. Bring your corners, curves, and curiosities and be ready to be warmly welcomed into our community. Class is virtual and free and takes place on Zoom.
WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR?
This class is for anyone who is interested in moving their body as part of a welcoming, adaptive global community. Come as you are and practice from a mat, chair, or wheelchair. We especially welcome healthcare workers and hospital staff.
DATES AND DETAILS:
Class is 45 minutes long. Class takes place on Thursdays at 6pm ET January 12- March 30, 2023. Zoom login and other info will become available upon registration.
ACCESSIBILITY NOTES:
Class is led from the mat and chair, with variations for wheelchair. This class is closed captioned and taught through a trauma-informed lens.

Meet your instructor: Alison Waldman, RYT-200, y4C, AY
Alison Waldman (she/her) is a Movement Artist-in-Residence at the Arts & Humanities Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH) in Washington, D.C. where she has lead wellness programs and dance encounters for patients and providers since 2016. Her playful and practical sessions celebrate and empower diversity in bodies and abilities with a sharp focus on equity and accessibility. Alison is certified in Accessible Yoga and Yoga for Cancer.
