Event description

Description

This 2 day workshop (Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 – 4:00) offers a great opportunity to learn many new ways of creating with acrylic paint and mixed media: collaging, stamping, stenciling, using drawing and writing tools, and other ways to apply and remove paint. You will learn to create art that is more expressive, contemporary, and personal. You'll also have an opportunity to explore your artistic process and to understand how to move more deeply into your own creativity. The workshop is open to participants with all levels of experience.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is a pay parking lot on the corner of 45th and 8th Ave NE (on the west side of 8th). You can get two free hours in this lot and then you have to pay for the rest of the time. Another option is to park on the street. There may be time limits on street parking, so be careful. Here is the procedure for getting the two free hours:

1. Press any button on the ticket machine to start

2. Enter your vehicle license plate number

3. Select "two free hours PetCo / Art"

4. Print receipt and place on dashboard

What supplies will I need for this class?

I’ll send you a supply list when you register. If you already paint in acrylics, there is no need to buy new supplies for this workshop, though there may be a few things you’d like to add to what you usually use. I bring a variety of materials, too, for students to use. If you are new to acrylic painting, give me a call to talk over what supplies you will need to get started. Since we'll be at an art store, it is probably best to just get the minimum supplies prior to the class and then fill in once you've had a chance to try a variety of materials that I'll have available. Be sure to bring a pad of Bristol board, 14x17 is a good size.

You also may want to bring paintings you’ve done (or photos of paintings), and paintings you’re working on to the class.

Artist & Craftsman Supply offers a 10% discount for students in this class (before and during the class). Take your supply list with you when you shop to show that you’re in the class.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Feel free to email me with any questions you have: jacqui@jacquibeck.com, or give me a call: 206-280-5917

What's the refund policy?

If you need to cancel, tuition (less $50 registration fee) will be refunded up to three weeks prior to the class.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, but it's best if you let me know who will be attending the class and their contact information so that I can be in touch with them prior to the class.

Lunch and snacks:

There are restaurants nearby but it's easiest if you bring a lunch and snacks. There is hot water for tea.
