Exploring the Nexus of Data, Culture, and Society

"Bridging Disciplines: Exploring the Nexus of Data, Culture, and Society" is an interdisciplinary symposium on Computational Social Science, taking place at Dalhousie University from January 24th–25th, 2026. The event will bring together scholars from the social sciences and computer science to foster collaboration, share research, and explore how computational methods can help us better understand complex social issues in the digital age.

The program will feature a keynote address, faculty presentations, and hands-on workshops on methods like social network analysis and natural language processing. By combining rich theoretical insights from the social sciences with technical innovations in data science and AI, the symposium aims to build a national network of interdisciplinary scholars and lay the groundwork for future collaborative research initiatives.
