Event description

Description

During this class series, we’ll explore the Brahma Viharas, or Divine Abodes – four practices that open and support healing the heart.

In the Buddhist teachings, these four practices – loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity – are considered the highest qualities of heart and emotional wellbeing.

During our time together, we’ll not only begin to sense into these qualities of heart, but practice abiding and dwelling in them as well with ourselves and as a community. Over time, these practices can become our true home, and go to as we manage and live with the stresses of today. Each class will include a guided mediation, a dharma talk, and a chance to discuss and experience these qualities for ourselves.

This class is designed to be taken as a series to encourage continuity of practice and also as an opportunity to create a supportive community. We will meet on Tuesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
