About this event

Artmaking is an incredible opportunity to explore relationship dynamics, especially when participants are given choice and agency to set their own terms for the exploration. Join Mae Early in a creative writing workshop that uses inanimate objects and relationship circles as a springboard to create a character monologue, narrative fiction, spoken word piece, or other artistic expression. As the Director of Education for Philadelphia Young Playwrights and the lead creator of Bartol’s Trauma-Informed Practice for Teaching Artists Training, Mae will model trauma-informed strategies to create invitations and agency for participants during the making process. Once the making process is complete, we will pop on our teaching artist hats to share reflections, ask questions, and brainstorm avenues to incorporate demonstrated practices into our own workshops.  Artists in all disciplines are welcome!  More info about Mae’s work is here.
