Anne-Marie Slaughter shocked women this year with her article, “Women Still Can’t Have It All,” highlighting the naked truth that the expectations on women to perform as a superhuman top professional, to maintain a feminine yet powerful (thereby masculine) image and to be a nurturing and multi-tasking mother is setting women up for failure. Ms. Slaughter overthew the fairy tale of being able to surmount these 3 polarizing tasks and discussed the costs she bore to become the first woman director of policy planning at the State Department.
