Event description

Description

Join us in the library for a chance to explore the research article "The Downstream Consequences of Problem-Solving Mindsets: How Playing with LEGO Influences Creativity" from the Journal of Marketing Research (2016) in an informal setting while building with LEGO bricks! This workshop is a ConnectED Information Literacy event.

We'll be reviewing the structure of a research article and replicating parts of the study from the article. The goal of this workshop is to provide students with a basic understanding of the structure of a research article and learn the purpose of each of the following components: abstract, introduction, literature review method, results, discussion, and references.

Inn order to replicate parts of the study from the article, each participant will receive an assortment of LEGO bricks and will be able to keep their creation at the end of the session.

Fun Facts

  • There are more than 900 million ways to combine six 2x4 LEGO bricks of the same color!
  • According to the legal notice on the LEGO website, you are never to add the letter "s" to the end of the LEGO trademark (which is always in capital letters). Among the acceptable plural forms are LEGO bricks and LEGO elements.
