Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Costa Rica.
March 15 – 23, 2019
Join Greenville Technical College on a journey of discovery and inquiry to Costa Rica! Ranked one of the happiest nations on earth, the “Rich Coast” is home to the famous cloud forest, active volcanos, and a wealth of biodiversity.
Faculty from the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas will lead visits to an organic cocoa plantation, a spice farm, and a working coffee farm.
Other activities include
- a lava trail hike up the Arenal Volcano
- a night walk through the Ecological Sanctuary to view nocturnal wildlife
- a hands-on cooking class at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve to learn about traditional Costa Rican Cuisine.
This trip is open to the public and is offered in cooperation with the Department of International Studies and the Department of Personal and Professional Enrichment. Travelers must be 18 or over.
Open to both the community and academic students.
Transferrable elective credit is available.

Bring your sense of adventure to an Information Session. We’ll explain the payment options and the requirements that must be met prior to registration. The rules are to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone in the group, but the life lessons you bring back are entirely your own.
