EXPLORING LATIN AMERICAN CULTURE THROUGH ANIMAL FOLKTALES
Presented by: The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Led by Felix Pitre, actor and storyteller from New York
When students learn to tell folktales, they enhance their understanding of human relationships, cultural similarities and differences, as well as develop their oral communication skills. In this workshop, explore the world of Latin American folktales and learn ways to help students use voice and body movement to bring a story to life. Learn ways to strengthen the story’s impact on listeners through participation in the telling.
