Event description

Description

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the concept of Whole Living.

We will recognize the dangers that selections and furnishing can present to your home as well as explore and identify the pollutants that contribute to poor indoor air quality (IAQ) during the construction process.

This class will identify construction practices that reduce particulates and increase IAQ, and present real solutions to furnishing a new home.

The owner of Living Stone Design + Build in Asheville NC, Sean Sullivan, started out as a remodeler and subcontractor with numerous small projects. He slowly transformed Living Stone into the award-winning company it is today. Sean joined the Green Built Alliance in 2006 and has been building only certified homes ever since. In 2008, he was elected the President of the Asheville Home Builders Association while earning his Accredited Master Builder Designation. After his tenure with the Asheville HBA, he began serving at the state level, most recently as the North Carolina HBA President in 2015. Sean was named Certified Green Professional of the Year at the National Association of Home Builders' International Builders' Show in 2017. In 2018, Sean served on NAHB’s Executive Committee and was the Chair of the Design Committee.

Being a believer in the power of home, Laura K. Laura channeled her passion for interior design and God-given creativity into the conception of ID.ology Interiors & Design, Asheville’s leading interior-design firm and furniture showroom, where she has cultivated a highly talented, all-female team composed of national award-winning, Certified Aging In Place, Wellness Within Your Walls Certified and Certified Green professionals. ID.ology collaboratively works hand-in-hand with architects, builders and homeowners to curate personalized, livable, comfortable, and low-toxicity spaces that speak to the essence of each client’s personality and lifestyle through consciously selecting healthy, non-toxic materials and finishes through to the furnishings that are placed in their homes.
