Description

Join New York Adventure Club for a private exploration of Historic Richmond Town; a completely authentic, real, and original town and farm museum complex featuring unique treasures dating all the way back to the mid-1600s.

Our guided experience within the 100-acre complex, which contains over thirty original historic structures and more than 130,000 historic artifacts dating back to the 17th century, will include:

  • Special access inside the restored and reconstructed 1840s General Store, which displays a wide variety of historic goods, including flour ground at nearby Geib’s Mill, spices, muslin and ribbon, household goods, nails, and turpentine.
  • A walkthrough of the 18th Century Christopher House, the meeting place for the local Committee of Safety during the American Revolution.
  • A look inside 1838 Stephens-Black House, the home of merchant Stephen Dover Stephens, his wife Elizabeth Johnson Stephens, and their five children.
  • A peek at an original Civil War era outhouse
  • A look inside the 1840s Colon Store (aka the Tinsmith’s Shop), the local supplies shop of James Colon Jr., a chairmaker and carpenter.
  • A final stop at the Historical Museum, the main exhibition space for Historic Richmond Town, located in a late-1800s carriage house
