Location

Description

With an eye on strengthening health systems and promoting replication and scale-up of successful programs, donors and implementers are increasingly looking beyond standard practices of measurement for evaluation to unpack health system challenges and complexities within development programs. As a result, evaluators and researchers are exploring the use of case-study designs and other mixed method approaches to answer complex evaluation questions and better understand important contextual factors that contribute to program successes and failures.

In an effort to open a dialogue about the opportunities and challenges in evaluating global health initiatives, we invite you to join John Snow, Inc. and the George Washington School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Institute of Medicince, this December for a panel event on case study methods and their application in global public health.Panelists include researchers from the multi-country evaluation of PEPFAR, the African Routine Immunization System Essentials (ARISE) project, Supply Chains for Community Case Management (SC4CCM), and the World Bank.

Our aim is to provide a opportunity for evaluators, implementers and funders to share insights and information on approaches for answering complex evaluation questions including: methodological design choices, evaluation and program learning strategies, and application of findings to future programming.
