Does your teen need or want to express their life experiences through a creative process? During the Manga, Japanese comics Summer Sessions your teen will learn illustration methods to discover this magical and meaningful universe.
Manga is well-known by the millennial generation (books, amines) as it resonates with its aesthetic form and meaning with the life experiences of teenagers, reflecting their wishes and imagination, and making sense of the world around them. Studies have shown that “copying is a cognitive and aesthetic activity involving planning, in which students depict their own experiences, ideas, and intentions”*.
As a result, through this creative process, artists will be able to create their own manga characters and stories as unique artistic expressions of themselves and gain more understanding of their desires and states of mind. We will discuss and share ideas about the concepts related to manga such as beauty, and you will even be able to share your favorite manga stories within the group. The medium includes works in a broad range of genres: action-adventure, comedy, detective, historical drama, horror, mystery, romance, science fiction and fantasy, and manga styles such as Kodomo, Shonen, Seinen, Shojo, and Josei.
Register now for your teen to express themselves through drawing their manga and personal story, as Mangaka their creativity will soar!
