Event description

Description

Dreaming of writing a novel? Itching to edit a potential best-seller? Is a book project languishing on your laptop? We'll help you get started!

Join Science Writers in New York (SWINY) and the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) on Wednesday, April 24, to learn about PublishDive, a major ebook self-publishing platform.

The industry has come a long way from the days of expensive print "vanity presses." Self-publishing has become a way to get ebooks in the market and get noticed—and picked up—by major publishers. PublishDrive distributes ebooks to over 400 stores worldwide, including Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo (just to name a few!)

Marketing consultant Phyllis Azar will explain how PublishDrive helps authors make their book ideas reality and helps editors ease into working with ebooks. Learn about PublishDrive's free EPUB/MOBI converter tool—no complicated coding skills required!

This no-cost event will be held at EFA Headquarters at 71 West 23rd Street, 4th Floor. We’ll provide snacks, beverages, and brainstorming. You bring your ideas!

Doors open at 6. Presentation begins at 6:30.
Attendees need a photo ID for admittance to the building.
