Event description

Description

Inquisitive minds push the boundaries of knowledge. CID Research invites you to bring your curious mind to tour our labs and learn how infectious disease research can save lives. On this 1-hour tour, you'll meet working scientists and see the tools and technologies that make our transformational research possible, including:

  • the Malaria Clinical Trials Center, one of only four in the world

  • view BioSafety Level 3 research spaces for HIV and tuberculosis research, reserved for tuberculosis and HIV research

  • step inside the Research Insectary, home to thousands of specially cultivated mosquitoes.

Your questions along the way will illuminate the connections between microbiology and data science, computer engineering and immunology - the tools of the future of life-saving research.

Please note: due to safety protocols, people under 16 years of age cannot participate in this tour. Closed toe shoes must be worn by guests.

Can't wait to know more about what we do?

Check out the CID Research blog, and discover the differences between viruses, parasites and bacteria, find out why HIV is so challenging to combat, or read about one researcher's battle with drug-resistant malaria.
