Join the Bell Museum and the University Honors Program for an evening with Robert D. Cabana, former NASA astronaut and current director of NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Don't miss this opportunity to hear Cabana's unique perspective on life as an astronaut and the future of space exploration!
Cabana will also present awards to University of Minnesota honors students Matthew DeJong and Macy Vollbrecht, 2019 Carol Fitzgerald Tyler and John Tyler Astronaut Scholars, on behalf of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.
Doors open at 6:30 pm
Awards and Talk begin at 7:00 pm in Horizon Hall

Meet our speaker
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cabana graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He would go on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps until retiring as a colonel in 2000.
During his career, Cabana has logged over 7,000 hours in 50 different kinds of aircraft. A veteran of four spaceflights, Cabana has logged 38 days in space—his final flight was the first assembly mission of the International Space Station in December 1998.
