FEATURED GUEST:  Greg Chapman, President of Sitewire, has been in the retail merchandising and marketing business for over 30 years. He spent 11 of those years with Best Products, learning the ins and outs of both retail merchandising and operations. At The Sharper Image, he headed up a merchandising division and was known as an intelligent and creative merchant. Greg helped launch the SkyMall catalog business as their first Vice President of Merchandising, and led subsequent web expansion and in-flight shopping strategy efforts. He served the VP of Hardlines Merchandising at Value Vision (now ShopNBC), and prior to joining Sitewire, spent almost 10 years at Sears, where he guided credit card in-statement marketing business to consistent profitability.

 

Purpose:  Understand a day in the life of a whale executive and how you can help them meet their needs as they buy products and services.

Talking Points:

1.       What is life like for an executive decision-maker in a whale company? 

2.       What do you need to understand in order to connect with that buyer?

3.       Why does that executive sometimes want to do business with a small company?

4.       How can you position your internal champion to be successful in carrying forward a proposal that you and he/she have crafted?

5. What are the key selling behaviors that help you win the whale’s business?
