SF Bay Area iaedp™ chapter invites you to "Experiential Therapy Approaches with the Eating Disordered Client" presented by Hunter Taylor, M.S., LCP

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn the rationale for use of experiential/psychodrama therapeutic techniques with eating disorders.

2. View and participate in a demonstration of a Family Sculpture.

3. Witness an experiential picture of The Stages of Change.

4. Observe and learn experiential/psychodramatic approaches to trauma work and techniques to work through barriers, such as body image struggles. 

5. Understand implementation of basic experiential techniques in individual practice.

6. Gain an understanding of cautions with this therapeutic approach.  

Presenter:

Hunter Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist who has been practicing in a variety of clinical settings since 1976, including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient community mental health, and residential and outpatient substance abuse and eating disorder treatment settings.  In 1995, Hunter was exposed to Experiential and Psychodrama treatment approaches at ONSITE Workshops in Tennessee, which dramatically changed his professional and personal life. Since then, he has been a contractual group leader for ONSITE, which offers a variety of personal and professional workshops geared toward personal growth utlizing action-oriented therapies.  He has presented at national addiction conferences on the subject of Experiential Therapy/Psychodrama with Eating Disorders and other disorders. In addition, he presented at an International Addiction conference in London, England on this topic. He has led staff trainings and experiential/psychoedrama groups with patients at The Meadows.  Currently, Hunter works as clinician part time at Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders, ONSITE workshops, and maintains a private practice. 

Bagels and coffee/tea will be provided.

Registration requested in advance.  Walk-ins welcome.  

2 clock hours of continuing education (CE) credits will be provided for this event.  iaedp™ has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5912.  Commission of Dietetic Registration #IN004.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. iaedp™ Foundation is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.  

At this point, we are unable to provide continuing education for psychologists through the California Psychological Association.  We are also unable to provide CMEs (Continuing Medical Education units) for medical providers.
