Event description

Description

Together, we will explore our own differences in experiences of privilege, power, and oppression as these experiences impact our self-confidence and our response to perceived success or failure. Participants will learn about the concept of personal efficacy—the ability to effect courses and outcomes in your life—and the impact that marginalization can have on one’s ability to achieve and maintain personal efficacy. Through reflection, examples, and exercises, this experiential training illustrates the impact that personal efficacy can have in empowering you to make positive and effective choices in your life, while teaching techniques to help nurture personal efficacy among the people in your life. This training is designed to help community members become stronger allies for, with, and among our neighbors transitioning from incarceration.

There is no advanced reading or preparation. Facilitators only ask that participants come with a willingness to share, listen and learn together. THRIVE is a startup non-profit that relies on the support of passionate people like you. To ensure all can participate, there are no training fees, we simply ask that participants consider making a gift of $40 to support THRIVE’s mission.
