Maria Peters Lake, president and co-founder of Peacock Productions, Inc., has been a leader in the LGBTQ+ community for more than 30 years. A natural born entertainer, Maria gave her first drag-style performance in 1986 at the legendary Darcelle XV Showplace. Since that time, she has served the community as Ms. Gay Portland II, Ms. Gay Oregon VI, Imperial Princess XXI and in 1993 she became the first female Rose Empress of the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court.

That same year, Maria was also chosen as the new hostess of Peacock in the Park and administrator of the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund (AME). In 1999, Maria became president of the newly incorporated Peacock Productions, Inc., leading an all-volunteer board of directors to produce Peacock in the Park(a summertime drag show at Washington Park), a 6-year run of Peacock After Dark (a theatrical experience at the Portland 5) and various other fundraisers to benefit the AME Scholarship Fund. To date, over $422,000 has been granted to undergraduate students in the LGBTQ+ community.

Maria works full time for a large healthcare organization, runs the Portland Jr. Gay and Adult Gay Pride Pageant, is an active member of her church and is always willing to volunteer her time to many worthwhile charities in our community.

All net proceeds of Experience Maria Peters Lake will benefit the Audria M. Edward Scholarship Fund.
