Event description

Description

Join Dr Stephen Wang, Head of Programme for Global Innovation Design and Innovation Design Engineering in the School of Design, for a workshop focusing on how to discover the needs for future global innovation.

These taster sessions are designed to give anyone thinking of applying to the RCA, an insight into what to expect should you choose to study at the Royal College of Art.

Synopsis
The growth of global urbanization and the unprecedented rise and spread of information and data-driven technologies such as AI and robotics are seen by some as two of the most important trends in the modern world.

Following those two trends, the ever changing individual need and lifestyle of urban residents would be considered as the third trend. We would also add a fourth, which we regard as even more significant than the three mentioned: the rise of global innovation challenges. This workshop looks at the first trend (global urbanization) in the light of the fourth trend, discussing the various social, cultural, environmental and resource problems that we will increasingly face globally in the coming decades.
