Event Details

Please join the Teachers College Inclusive Classrooms Project and the New York City Department of Education for our second annual "Expanding Mindsets, Tranforming Practices" Chancellor's Day conference presented by teachers for teachers!

From October to June, six Inquiry to Action Teams met once per month to focus on building instructional practices in their schools around Assistive Technologies, Multilevel Dynamic Assessments, Multimodal Projects, Positive Student Behaviors, UDL- Accommodations, Modifications, & Peer Supports, and Working With Families.  Last year's Chancellor's Day conference was a huge success, culminating in the creation of the InclusiveClassroomsProject.org website.  This year's conference will continue to build upon that achievement.

Sign-in will begin at 8:30AM at Teachers College (located at 525 W. 120th Street) with the day kicking off promptly at 9:00AM and ending at 2:30PM (reception to follow).  Once registered, you will receive another invitation to select your break-out sessions towards the end of May.  Please RSVP as soon as possible as spaces are limited.

Teachers College Inclusive Classroom Project

The Teachers College Inclusive Classrooms Project supports research, teaching and service to create educational practices that support all students to grow and thrive in their classrooms.  Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that all students can participate in the general education curriculum when provided with appropriate supports and services. We believe that the single-format lesson does not support the full and diverse range of learners in any given classroom, and that teachers need to develop the skills and dispositions that address each and every learner. Teachers with the skills, disposition and support to teach every learner can and will teach every learner.  As a project we strive to support teachers' development of their own classroom practices to teach diverse learners.
