A New Resource for Educators, Community and Afterschool Leaders and Funders: Expanding Minds and Opportunities

This session builds on the November 12 session to delve deeper into the many important uses of the new landmark compendium entitled, Expanding Minds and Opportunities: Leveraging the Power of Afterschool and Summer Learning for Student Success. With more than 100 authors contributing, Expanding Minds focuses on how a growing number of communities across America are successfully using expanded learning opportunities to increase educational attainment. Learn how to use this resource filled with data points, research highlights, examples and quotes that can help improve practice, build better support and sustainability, develop new partners, and make the case for afterschool and summer learning programs.  The executive editor and publisher will share ideas on using the articles for professional development, advocacy and grant/report writing.

Learn how afterschool and administrators are working together to “build a new day for learning,” aimed at achieving innovative reform within schools and through quality afterschool and summer learning programs.
