Ideal for physical therapists and athletic trainers, this course shares our approach to creating a targeted performance rehab and recovery strategy.

This four-day lecture and lab experience introduces comprehensive screening to help build a transitional program from rehabilitation to performance. Recognizing that each athlete and injury is unique, this course emphasizes treatment plans tailored to the individual.

Topics include:

  • Introduction to EXOS methodology
  • Movement Preparation, Prehabilitation, Pillar Strength, and Regeneration
  • Implementing the Functional Movement Screen
  • Upper- and lower-quadrant movement functional examinations and common dysfunctions
  • Introduction to EXOS training and performance evaluation
  • Hands-on lab: student-to-faculty ratio 16:1

Course Educator:

  • Joseph Walker is the performance physical therapy manager of EXOS San Diego with over 10 years of experience as an orthopedic and sports physical therapist. Joseph earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from California State University of Long Beach in 2007 and his undergraduate, Bachelor’s of Science, Biology degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2001. He is an American Physical Therapy Board Certified Sports Specialist. Joe’s approach to treatment is eclectic, utilizing effective manual and functional techniques to achieve optimal results.
