The panel will detail their personal experiences and cover some best practices in exit strategies, including:

Aaron Daniels, Chief Executive Officer, Beyond Velocity

Aaron Daniels, Chief Executive Officer and Strategic Finance expert is a dynamic, growth-focused executive with more than 33 years of strategic, financial and operating experience in building and transforming companies. He has a proven track record in successfully growing companies and unlocking synergies to significantly increase valuation and stakeholder returns. Together with CEOs and leadership teams, he has been responsible for value creation by executing the companies aggressive organic growth and mergers and acquisitions plans, while continuing to build out rapidly-scalable company infrastructures. He has led several significant buy-side and sell-side transactions for his companies.

Prior to founding Beyond Velocity, Aaron was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Cognosante, a company broadly recognized for their significant (“hyper”) growth and valuation over the past several years. Cognosante was, and is today, recognized as a visionary leader in the public-sector health IT industry. During Aaron’s tenure as EVP and CFO, Cognosante and several of its executives were nominated for many prestigious industry and professional awards. Notably, Aaron was selected as a finalist in the 2015 NVTC CFO of the Year awards. Today, Aaron continues to advise Cognosante as a Strategic Advisor.

Before joining Cognosante, Aaron served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Argon ST, Inc. a leading public defense technology company that was sold to Boeing in 2010 (at a record valuation). As a key member of the executive team, he helped grow revenues from approximately $250 million to $400 million in four years with significant improvements in profitability, cash generation and company valuation. He effectively partnered with the Board and CEO to drive dramatic change in the organization. His responsibilities included strategy, finance, investor relations and operations as well as M&A strategy and evaluation. Aaron received CEO and Board nominations for the 2009 NVTC CFO of the Year awards.

Prior to Argon ST, Aaron was Senior Vice President Finance and Treasurer of InPhonic, Inc., a rapid-growth venture-backed technology company named #1 on the 2004 Inc. Magazine list of the fastest growing 500 private companies. InPhonic went public in 2004. Aaron also served in senior finance roles at other Washington, DC-based technology and media companies including The Washington Post Company. Aaron began his career as a tax professional with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC).

Dan Doran, Founder, Quantive

Dan is the founder of Quantive, a financial services firm specializing in M&A, Valuation, and Exit Planning. Quantive works primarily with entrepreneurs and family businesses in the lower middle market.

Mr. Doran runs Quantive’s valuation practice and advises directly on select M&A deals.

Dan is an experienced and sought after valuation expert. With deep experience in M&A, his point of reference goes beyond debits and credits. His M&A background gives keen insight to what entrepreneurs most want to know: “what’s it really worth?” He is a seasoned valuation professional, having completed over a thousand valuations in various industries across the U.S.

Dan is a frequent speaker and author, having been published and quoted in publications such as Fortune, US News & World Report, Financial Advisor Magazine, Banking New York, and the Washington Business Journal amongst others.

Early in his career Dan was a key member in a bankruptcy turnaround / leveraged buyout, and worked at GE on large restructuring projects. He was also an active duty Army Officer (Calvary – Scouts Out!).

In his spare time Dan is an avid outdoor enthusiast, has climbed mountains the world over, and enthusiastically tries to see the farthest corners of the world.

Zac McGinnis, Managing Director, Riveron Consulting

As a Managing Director, Zac McGinnis is responsible for client service. His 17 years of experience in accounting advisory and audit roles in Big Four firms include capital raising assistance, carve-out and pro forma financial statements, business combination and divestiture matters, IPO readiness, GAAP change and conversions, and audit assistance. Zac has worked with clients focused primarily in the energy industry, including multi-national publicly traded companies, private-equity portfolio companies and privately-held institutions.

Zac earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, as well as a Master of Accountancy degree, from the University of Tennessee. Prior to joining Riveron, he was with PwC as a Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Director. Zac is a Certified Public Accountant.

Zac primarily spent his professional career in Texas, Amsterdam and Tokyo.

Brendan Sullivan, Managing Director, Tax- Transaction Advisory Services

Brendan Sullivan is a managing director with over 10 years of experience providing federal and state tax consulting and compliance services to C Corporations, S Corporations and Partnerships. Brendan has advised private equity and corporate clients in transaction-related matters including tax due diligence, strategy and structuring. Brendan is known for providing technically sound practical solutions to his clients. While he works with clients in a variety of industries, he focuses primarily on government contractors and technology-focused enterprises.

Brendan has also worked with private equity firms as well as companies in optometry, medical services, surgical centers, media and information, IT staffing, telecommunications, online educational services, energy & alternative fuels, banking and finance, manufacturing, and engineering service industries.

Brendan’s broad experience across a vast number of industries allows him to provide his clients with another trusted advisor to help navigate diverse tax and business problems.

Before joining BDO, Brendan served as a manager at Argy, Wiltse & Robinson, P.C. Brendan was also a manager in the federal tax department of a Big Four accounting firm.
