Event description
An attempt to solve a persistent problem of the Milwaukee artist: having big ideas but scant resources with which to realize them.

About this Event

John Riepenhoff is a curator and co-owner of The Green Gallery, Milwaukee, WI, a collaborator at The Open, co-organizer of Milwaukee International

and Dark Fairs, is an inventor of artistic platforms for the expression of others and regular food ideator. The John Riepenhoff Experience is a small wooden box attached to the wall about eight or nine feet off the ground. It has a rectangular hole in the top fitted with a piece of translucent plastic, through which a photographer’s floodlight shines, and a circular hole in the bottom. Climbing up a stepladder one at a time, viewers can put their heads inside the box and see some very small art.

The artist behind this exhibit, YooHee, was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. She received a BFA degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014. She is continuing her education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago this fall.
