Event description

Description

"An Appalling Disaster: Shipwrecks in Queensland" exhibition will be launched with a talk by John Pearn about the wreck and the rescue of the Royal Charlotte. Of the many significant events and rescues in the "Amity"'s life, her role in the desperate rescue of the survivors of the ship, "Royal Charlotte", is perhaps the most dramatic. The exhibition's curator, Jeff O'Mara, tells the story of three shipwrecks on the Queensland coast: SS Yongala, Cambell Wallace and The Fiery Star. Besides stories of extreme tragedy and bravery, the visitors can observe everyday objects of living on a ship.

Light refreshments.

Voluntary donation of 10 AUD.
