CUTTING-EDGE SPANISH CRAFTS
As part of the public program for our exhibition Cutting-Edge Spanish Crafts, design expert Douglas Burton will be moderating a conversation with journalist Jennifer Sergent and curator of the exhibit Tachy Mora. Please join us for an insightful dialogue on contemporary Spanish crafts and design as part of the exhibit’s inaugural weekend in Washington, DC.
Tachy Mora is a Spanish design journalist and curator based in Madrid. She currently contributes as an editor-at-large to the Sunday magazine of the Spanish national newspaper El País, the trends magazine Neo2, and the design blog DiarioDESIGN. She is also the author of the book on which the exhibition Cutting-Edge Spanish Crafts is based, and has previously curated other shows such as Madtastic! Fresh Design From Madrid.
Jennifer Sergent is a freelance design writer whose work appears regularly in DC Modern Luxury, Washingtonian, Home & Design, and Bethesda and Arlington magazines. A contributing editor and writer for Luxe Interiors + Design, she also covers design talents throughout the Washington, DC region with her blog DC by Design. Sergent was marketing director for the Washington Design Center from 2010-2012.
Douglas Burton is the founding member of Apartment Zero, a platform for design exhibitions, workshops, educational events, and embassy and museum collaborations, as well as the premier showroom for visiting designers from around the world. He founded the first Washington DC International Design Festival and has curated many design exhibitions, as well as launched festivals with several embassies.
