Chip Cargas is the Founder, Chairman & CEO of Cargas Systems, an employee-owned software company with 90 employees. Founded in 1988, Cargas Systems specializes in two areas: Cargas Energy, software for fuel delivery and service companies; and Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics business software for a broad range of industries.
Chip helps guide Cargas to expanding Shared Success for its employees, customers, owners, partners, and community. He helps keep the great place to work, sustainable growth, built to last, employee-owned culture vibrant for successive generations of employee owners.
Cargas Systems is the Samaritan Center’s 2016 Ethics in Business Award winner in the medium-large business category, the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2016 Business of the Year Award winner in the 51-100 employee category, an 11-time winner of the Best Places to Work in PA designation, and is one of the 2016 Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Central PA.
Chip was the Central Penn Business Journal 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce 2006 Small Business Person of the Year. He graduated from Cornell University and received an Honorary Doctorate in Public Service from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. He is a past board member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, Union National Financial Corporation, and numerous nonprofits. Chip rides his bicycle 5,000 miles per year for commuting, fitness, and fun.
