Event description

Description

The Executive Director Forum is a unique opportunity for EDs/CEOs to connect with their peers, share ideas, and learn from each other in a supportive environment. The format of the forum allows you to circulate to two tables for discussion groups and interact with many of the executives in attendance as well as our outstanding discussion leaders.

Is your organization's budget under $1 million? Email kendra@501commons.org for a discount code to receive free admission.

Topics and Facilitators

Trish Dziko - “Building a Board with Influence.”

Reach beyond your contacts to build an influential board. Want corporate sponsors, auction donors, high bidders, and large individual gifts? You need board members who are well respected, well connected, and willing to work on your behalf.

Trish is the executive director of Technology Access Foundation. In 1996, Trish left her 15-year career in the technology industry to start TAF in an effort to ensure students of color had access to the skills needed to participate as inventors and creators in the growing field of technology.

Srijan Chakraborty - "What would it look like to democratize decision-making in your organization?"

How can you incorporate democratic decision making into your organizational culture? Why do we think a hierarchical structure works and what are our fears of democratizing the decision making process? Could democratizing decision making within nonprofits encourage a high level of engagement and a shared sense of accountability for the organization’s results in the community? Let us challenge ourselves to rethink the structure of our workplaces.

Srijan has been the executive director of the Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) since 2015. HIP's mission is to increase food security for underserved populations in North King County through nutritious meals, educational programs, and advocacy. Previously he was the development and communications manager at The Sophia Way. Srijan left his career as a Software Engineer after working nine years at Microsoft and decided to pursue social work.

Online registration ends June 6 at noon. You may register at the door starting at 8:15 a.m. on June 7.
