About this event

Executive Director Forum - December 3 image

The Executive Director Forum is a unique opportunity for EDs/CEOs to connect with their peers, share ideas, and learn from each other in a supportive environment.  The format of the forum allows you to circulate through three discussion groups and interact with many of the executives in attendance as well as our outstanding discussion leaders.

This is a confidential setting, so bring what's really on your mind and let your peers support you. Once you’ve registered, a group email will be sent a few days before the meeting with information on how to attend via Zoom.

Javania Cross Polenska (deputy director at Washington State Opportunity Scholarship) will talk about how transforming our recruiting, hiring, and retention practices can help build staff teams that mirror those we serve. Javania leads WSOS’s internal affairs, which includes culture, professional development, process improvement, and operations. Leveraging learnings from a diverse set of professional and lived experiences, she loves helping organizations solve challenges that get in the way of delivering on their intended impacts/goals.

WSOS connects WA’s leading industries with top local talent by reducing barriers to education and training and facilitating entry into high-demand careers for Washington students.

Jim Wigfall, CEO of Sound Generations, will speak on the topic of “Generational Divide or Dividend?” Jim talks about ways you can maximize the benefits of an inter-generational staff and reduce stresses arising from people having different perspectives about the workplace. Jim is an experienced Chief Executive Officer and as a Vice-President at Boeing was responsible for the performance of all shared services for Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Capital Corporation.

Since 1967, Sound Generations has served older adults and adults with disabilities in King County. They support almost 54,000 people annually and are WA’s largest provider of comprehensive services for aging adults and their loved ones.
