Event description

Description

Set in Dakar, Senegal, Larabilaran: Le Talibé Et Moi explores social and economic inequality through the life of a talibé, Seydina, who encounters and negotiates his identity and relationships with Mariama, a young well educated and privileged girl.

This Sunu Thiossane Production is the culminating project featuring the works of teaching artists in modern, contemporary and traditional dance, spoken word, and visual art performed and created by our 2016 summer camp participants.

The film is dedicated to the theme of hope and is an expression of our commitment to fostering compassion and understanding and ending inequality, while highlighting the major issue of forced begging in Senegal.
