About this event
Attention all dog lovers: did you know that the country’s only museum dedicated to dogs and the human-canine bond is right here in NYC? Just a hop, skip, and a bark away from Grand Central Terminal, you’ll find a premiere collection of art and artifacts dedicated to our best furry friends. Are you ready to explore one of the most unique (and arguably cutest) art collections that the city has to offer?
Join New York Adventure Club for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the American Kennel Club (AKC) Museum of the Dog — now back in NYC after residing in St. Louis for 30 years, this one-of-a-kind museum showcases one of the largest repositories of canine-related art in the world.
Led by the Museum's Learning and Engagement Manager, Sarah Moshenberg, our unique after-hours experience will include:
- Private access to the three-story museum after the doors close to the public
- An after-hours highlights tour of the galleries showcasing a historic collection of dog art
- A deep dive into the history of dog art and artists of the last 300 years, with opportunities to learn more about specific breeds
- Exclusive behind-the-scenes access to art not currently on view in the galleries
- A chance to use the Find Your Match kiosk that will take your photo and tell you which dog breed you are
Afterward, we'll have the opportunity to visit the museum's gift shop — all guests will get 10% off!
See you there!
*No pets are allowed on the tour (service dogs permitted)
