Event Details

As organizations acquire and store more data than ever before, database designers, administrators and developers are struggling to address this "information explosion".  Both relational and non-relational technologies have evolved to meet increased data sizes, and the skills of database professionals must also evolve to support these technologies.

The Georgia Oracle Users Group is excited to announce our Evolving Databases Symposium on February 26 in Atlanta, GA. Attendance at this special event is free, and includes world renowned speakers Tom Kyte, Vice-President with Oracle Corporation, and Alex Gorbachev, Chief Technology Officer with Pythian. Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear two industry experts discuss the evolution of modern database technologies, including in-memory databases and Big Data architectures.

Join us in The Reel Room at SweetWater Brewing Company, the South's second largest craft brewery and a staple in the city's cultural scene. Located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, in the Armour Circle Industrial Park, the SweetWater headquarters is minutes from some of Atlanta's most notable neighborhoods.

**Tour of the brewery at the conclusion of the event.**

*Tom Kyte, Vice-President, Oracle Corporation*

**Whats New in Oracle Database 12c Release 12.1.0.2?**

Oracle Database 12c Release 12.1.0.2 is out. This session will explore some of the new capabilities found in this release including In-Memory optimizations, Attribute Clustering and enhancements to Oracle Multitenant.

*Alex Gorbachev, Chief Technology Officer, Pythian*

**Big Data and Hadoop for Oracle Database Professionals**

The Hadoop ecosystem is a major component of modern Big Data stacks and this session focuses on explaining Hadoop design principles and how these principles enable customers to boost capabilities of their traditional data warehouses as well as for new data processing use cases that were considered prohibitively expensive with traditional database software.
