Evolving City, Evolving Restaurants
Event Information
Description

There's no question that San Francisco has changed, but one thing that remains the same is its place at the forefront of restaurant innovation. Now that its signature local and sustainable fare has hit the mainstream, the City by the Bay is serving it family style, making it casual, and incorporating it into Chinese, Thai, and other cuisines. The dining scene has also been adapting to economic forces, like the influx of tech dollars, the displacement of the workforce by rising rents, and the minimum wage increase. In this panel discussion, well-respected chefs and restaurateurs will discuss the challenges, opportunities, and trends in the ever-evolving landscape of eating out in San Francisco.
Speakers:
- Erin Archuleta, co-owner of ICHI Sushi + NI Bar and ICHI Kakiya and member of the Golden Gate Restaurant Association board
- Joe Hargrave, owner of Tacolicious, Mosto, and Chino
- Thad Vogler, owner of Bar Agricole and Trou Normand and "the City's foremost liquor authority"
Moderator: Allie Pape, editor of Eater SF
The talk will be followed by a reception with light refreshments.
