Event description
You are invited to widen your perspective and open beyond perceived limitations, moving into the Now of Evolutionary Presence.

About this Event

‘Between 'what was' and 'what will be' there is a vast space called Now. It is your true home.”

- Jeff Foster

From Devon, England we welcome School of Movement Medicine Faculty Member, Jo Hardy, an extraordinary teacher of embodied movement with over 22 years of experience offering workshops around the globe, with a focus on regular programs in China.

Evolutionary Presence is a School of Movement Medicine Dance Weekend that promises sweat, wild and tender dances, laughter and sweet challenging moments. Jo creates a safe space for all ages, backgrounds, dance experiences, cultures, appearances and physical conditions to explore freedom of movement and connection with others.

We will practice rooting deeply into our body and heart and opening into Presence in each movement moment as an evolutionary act that supports us to step through and beyond the wounds of inner and outer persecution, victimization and addiction, into a landscape of compassion, gratitude, forgiveness and a deep capacity to be with the moment as it is.

We are alive at a time of great speed, deep divisions, alienation and polarization. The resulting disconnection from the natural unity of our body, heart and mind can leave us cut off from our roots and disconnected from our capacity to connect to our self, each other and the wider web of life.

A profound longing is growing in many of us to widen our perspective and open beyond perceived limitations into the Now of deep Evolutionary Presence.

Participants will learn a set of practical tools with which they can practice at home and apply to their daily lives such as:

“Awakening the Dancer”

• "Activating your Circle" strengthen the integrity of your boundaries – expanding and contracting to enable authentic and fruitful relationship

"Tree of Life Practice" grounding and cultivation of presence in body, heart, mind.

"Dancing the Elements" expand your capacity to articulate, express and befriend your emotions by connecting to the Elements: Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Ether.

"Creating an Embodied Practical Practice" focus your intentions and wishes for blossoming of Spring and the year ahead.

Jo Hardy has been a Faculty Member of The School of Movement Medicine since 2007. Her background as a body-based Psychotherapist for 25 years has led to her current work in Transformational Coaching, mentoring and supervision. Mindfulness meditation and dynamic heart enquiry have been an integral part of Jo’s life and inform her work. Facilitation of Joanna Macy’s ‘Work That Reconnects’ and extending her facilitation skills to support groups to effectively self-organise with Dynamic Governance are her other ongoing interests.

“We have known Jo for many years and recognise in her a truly beautiful blend born of her many years of dedicated practice and enquiry. She is wise, funny and a truly unique dancer with a heart of gold and the uncompromising intelligence to match. Jo has been an elder of the School of Movement Medicine since 2007. We value the particular wisdom and depth that Jo brings linking the personal, archetypal, and the collective. She’s a force of nature who will stay with you wherever your journey leads.”

Ya’Acov & Susannah Darling Khan –
Directors of The School of Movement Medicine

The School of Movement Medicine was birthed by Susannah & Ya'Acov Darling Khan over a period of 30 years of study and practice with many teachers and teachings worldwide. These include Shamans from the Arctic Circle to the Amazon, an 18-year apprenticeship with Gabrielle Roth and the 5Rhythms, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Family Constellations and work with the Pachamama Alliance.

Movement Medicine is a creative, embodied meditation practice that will reconnect you to the wisdom of living from your heart, the joy of knowing who you are and the satisfaction of making your unique contribution to life. Rooted in ancient wisdom and modern understanding of how change happens, its intention is to help you to access more of the physical and emotional intelligence that’s inside you through bringing awareness to the way you move, feel and think. Movement Medicine is an invitation for personal empowerment in the context of community that will deepen your connection to yourself, your creativity and the integrity and guidance of your own soul.
