Event description

Description

Kitchens have been evolving for centuries, starting outdoors and finally finding their way into the home. On May 17th, Sheri will discuss the most important time frame in the kitchen evolution, the late 1800's to the 1950's. During this time, the modern kitchen came to be what we think of today, the hardest working room in the home. The program will be begin with an overview of Spokane's eclectic homes and how original space planning evolved to feature the kitchen; following with a discussion on historic kitchen aesthetics. Finally Sheri will address the issue of how to appropriately modernize to fit clients needs while embracing the historic style of the home.
