America celebrates September as Gospel Music Heritage Month! Led by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Gospel Music Advocate Carl Davis, the 8th Annual "Evolution of Gospel" Celebration will host the 10th Annual McDonald's Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour. This year's honorees include: Edwin Hawkins, Hezekiah Walker and Reginald Van Lee.
This year's celebration will educate and celebrate the art form and rich heritage of all genres of gospel music: contemporary, traditional, inspirational, instrumental, hip-hop, and comedy. Hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones and syndicated radio personality Lonnie Hunter, you'll experience renowned gospel artists Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark Sheard, Charles Jenkins, Canton Jones, Jonathan McReynolds, and Doug Williams (of the Williams Brothers).

Are there locations to pick up reservation vouchers in my local area?
Yes, reservation vouchers are also available at participating locations (while stock lasts).
Since the event is FREE, do I still need a ticket to attend the concert?
Yes, a ticket is REQUIRED for entry. If you do not have an electronic or physical ticket, we will not be able to allow entry.
Is there a parking fee?
Yes, The Kennedy Center charges $23 for parking
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to attend the concert?
A photo ID is not required. There is no age limit to enter the concert. However, all persons, regardless of age, MUST have a voucher/ticket. Please be aware that children who are disruptive will not be allowed to remain in the theater. Be considerate of others in the audience and of your young person's comfort.
Where do I redeem my voucher for a ticket/assigned seat?
Bring your reservation voucher to the Will Call table in the Kennedy Center Grand Foyer on the day of the performance to receive your ticket for a reserved seat. The Will Call tables open at 5:30pm.
What time do the doors open?
Doors open 45 minutes before the concert time. We encourage you to arrive early. First come, first seated. Due to fire and safety regulations, once we reach the Concert Hall's maximum capacity, we're unable to all additional seating (even if you have a voucher).

The 2016 Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour is back for the 10 year and will feature every genre within the gospel music industry: contemporary, traditional, inspirational, instrumental, hip-hop, and comedy. Hosted by syndicated radio personality Lonnie Hunter, you'll experience renowned gospel artists Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark-Sheard, Charles Jenkins, Jonathan McReynolds, Canton Jones, and Doug Williams. Acclaimed comedian, Small Fire will provide entertainment for the entire family and community to enjoy.
This tour continues to deliver strong evidence that consumers view McDonald’s as being connected to the African-American community and will continue to offer not only a free concert, but also a great family experience with entertainment that is positive, uplifting and inspirational.
As with past years, McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour will highlight the importance of giving back to the community by supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). During each tour stop, attendees will learn more about the Charity and the vital role it plays in helping families stay close to their ill or injured children.
