Event description

Patients who present with a complex list of disparate symptoms can challenge our diagnostic problem solving skills. Sometimes their symptoms may mislead us into choosing ineffective root treatments, and it can take weeks before we even begin to understand the case. Understanding human development then, becomes critical for working backwards to identifying a patient's true constitutional weaknesses.

In this one day workshop, Kiiko Matsumoto will combine relevant information from ancient Chinese Mythology, the Chinese Classics and modern research to teach a comprehensive view of the body, how and why certain structures developed, and hypothesize the reason behind certain point names and locations. In addition, she will cover valuable treatments focusing on the Kidneys and Dan Tien that will allow you to treat a wide range of constitutional conditions to truly help your patients achieve improved long-term health and well-being.

7.5 CEUs (pending NCCAOM approval)

Is this class for beginners or more advanced practitoners?

We recommend this class for those with some background in Kiiko style acupuncture, although practitioners of all levels of background are welcome to attend.

Do I need to be a licensed acupuncturist to attend this class?

This class is open to licensed acupuncturists, second and third year acupuncture students, and medical doctors. Please specify your credentials/license number during registration or email us directly.

How long will Early Bird tickets be available?

You will have access to Early Bird pricing through December 1st, 2019

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Kiiko's office is accessible via the Green Line D train (Newton Highlands stop), bus (59) and car. On Sunday there is unlimited street parking. For Saturday, parking on Walnut street is 2 hours only. For those who do not wish to have to move their car, we recommended parking on Aberdeen Street, two blocks east and less than a 5 minute walk from Kiiko's office.

What can I bring into the event?

We recommend bringing a clipboard, or other stiff material to lean on for taking notes. We will provide tea, coffee, and light refreshments. There will be a one hour break for lunch- you may bring your own or we will make recommendations for eating out within short walking distance.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are fully refundable (minus Eventbrite fees) up until the end of the day February 7th, 2020. After February 7th, we will not be able to refund your ticket, but you may transfer your ticket to another participant, just let us know that there has been a change. Because the purchase of your ticket reserves a space in the current class, we cannot transfer your ticket to a future class.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but we will be taking attendance at the door and you must have registered ahead of time to be able to attend the class.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes but please do so by March 1st so we can prepare the correct certificate for you.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, but please let us know so we prepare the correct certificate.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, but please let us know via a direct email so that we prepare the correct certificate.

Is there a difference between the Saturday and Sunday class?

Not really. Both courses will cover the same general material. We have a limited amount of space, and choose to offer the class twice in order to accomidate more people. That said, the demonstrations and questions students ask may vary some of the material covered. Some students choose to attend both classes, however only 7.5 total CEUs can be earned, and we cannot offer you a discount for attending multiple dates.

I'm registered for the Sunday class but I would rather attend on Saturday (or vice versa)

Once you are registered for the class, so long as there is room on the second date we can transfer your ticket. Please email us directly. You may also cancel your registration and re-register for your preferred class via Eventbrite. Because Eventbrite's fees are non-refundable, we do recommend that you contact us first, we may be able to absorb the cost if you made a mistake. If the class on the day you would prefer to attend is sold out, we won't be able to squeeze you in. For this reason, we recommend that you figure out the better day for you before February 1st.

Is there a waitlist?

Yes. You may add your name to the waitlist via Eventbrite, just try to register for the class as usual. If a ticket becomes available, you will be contacted by Eventbrite directly and will have 24 hours to claim your ticket.
