Overview
EVIDENCE in Action: Mini-Workshop on Navigating CBRN Disinformation
Duration: Approx. 2 hours (simulation + discussion)
Audience: Students and researchers across security, health, and law
Location: Dockrill Room (KIN628)
How do we make sense of complex, high-stakes information in a crisis? Join the EVIDENCE Network for an interactive simulation exploring the challenges of misinformation and disinformation in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) security.
This two-hour session invites participants to step into a dynamic scenario where facts blur, credibility is contested, and decisions carry real-world consequences. Working in cross-disciplinary teams, you’ll examine conflicting reports, assess uncertain evidence, and experience firsthand how information disorder can shape national and international responses.
By the end of the event, you will:
- Recognise how mis/disinformation influences CBRN security environments.
- Practise evaluating sources and evidence under uncertainty.
- Appreciate diverse disciplinary approaches to assessing information credibility.
- Strengthen confidence in collaborative, cross-sector problem-solving.
Please note: This will be a catered event. If you have any allergies please get in contact with the team at evidence@kcl.ac.uk
