Description

International and local perspectives for improving outcomes for children and young people.

This one day symposium is a joint initiative of the Centre for Community and Child Health and the Victorian Government and will showcase international and local practice around the collaborative use of evidence and data to support improved outcomes for children and young people.

International experts will include:

  • Dr Michael Little, Fellow of the Centre for Social Policy, Dartington and Curator of the R Word
    The R word: how relationships make us think differently about public policy and science for children
  • Chris Cuthbert, Director of Development, A Better Start, UK
    A better start: an innovative place-based approach to early childhood development
  • A/Prof Moira Inkelas, Centre for Healthier Children, Families and Communities, University of California, Los Angeles.
    A learning system for improving family and community outcomes

Concurrent workshop sessions will include panellists from Victorian community sector organisations, senior policy specialists and academic leaders.
