‘Evidence Based Running Assessment and Gait Re-education'
8 CPD HOURS - accredited by the Sports Therapy Association
Sports Therapists, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Personal Trainers & Coaches who currently use / plan to use Gait Analysis as a way of helping runners manage & prevent running related injury and improve running performance.
This full day CPD workshop (accredited by the Sports Therapy Association) is recommended as a follow on to the foundation workshop 'Putting the Evidence Back into Running Injury Management.' Concepts formerly introduced will be expanded upon with reference to the use of Gait Analysis & Gait Re-education to help runners manage & recover from injury/pain, reduce risk of future incidence & improve performance.
By utilising what both biomechanics and pain science research tells us, therapists will learn an evidence based, multifactorial approach to the assessment of runners. Case studies will be used to illustrate the benefits of gait analysis and re-education as well as potential pitfalls and red herrings.
• What to look out for in the case history.
• Pre-treadmill assessment of strength, mobility & neuromuscular control.
• Fundamental elements for a successful gait analysis.
• How to avoid red herrings & confirmation bias.
• Putting the pieces together: Case history + Assessement + Gait Analysis
• Coming up with a plan: Activity modification + Ancillary exercise + Gait re-education
£95 early bird
