One of the main prerequisites for being a good leader is having a clear vision of what you want. Think about it: How can you expect people to follow you, if you don’t know where you’re going?
Developing your vision starts with goal setting. You need to know the expected outcome should be before starting even the simplest task. If you’re delegating a task to someone else, you’ll also need to be able to communicate that goal clearly to the person you’re delegating to; so they know the expected outcome as well.
A good way to do this, is to start with the result you want, and work backwards to today. By doing this, you can determine if what you want is achievable. Then, you can start building strategies and tactics that will get that goal accomplished.
